19th - August 8th - Magic City Loser Contest
 MAGIC
CITY LOSER CONTEST PARTICIPANTS SELECTED
La-Vie
Fitness and Main Street Moberly announce the participants
selected for the Magic City Loser contest. Over thirty-five
applicants were screened and a group of fourteen were chosen
as good candidates for the weight loss program.
This group
of fourteen will be divided into teams soon so they can
compete against each other for prizes. However, their
primary goal is to become more physically fit. Those
selected to participate are:

 The
first week of this 12-week program will be dedicated to
learning proper usage of exercise equipment plus nutrition
counseling and setting a regime. The program will end in
August.
Be certain
to follow the progress of these fourteen women as they work
hard to become the Magic City Loser by clicking on their
photos or names.
July
- Alive After Five Thursday Evening Event
Alive
after Five is a month-long promotion to raise community
awareness of the fact that many of our members have extended
hours. Activities repeated from last year will include the
banner spanning Reed Street and window signage for
applicable members. We will also publish a flyer listing all
members who have extended hours. New this year, will be an
evening event called "Alive After Five Family Night" from
5-8 p.m. On thursday, July 17th, there will be
several activities scheduled. Reed Street will not be closed
to traffic, but Fourth and Fifth Streets will be closed. The
following is a list of what is planned so far, but we hope
to add other activities.
- All-American
Kid Contest 5:30 p.m. - This will be for boys and
girls age 2-3, 4-5, and 6-7. They should wear red, white
& blue clothing. Props are allowed. They will be
judged on their outfit, personality, and will be asked
one verbal question while on stage.
- Parent/Child
Trivia Contest 6:30 p.m. - This will be for boys and
girls age 8-14 and one parent. This will be similar to
our Pairs Trivia we've done previously, but the questions
will be geared to the parent/child knowledge. For
example: "What will your mom say is your favorite video
game?"
- Zucchini
Races 6:00 p.m. - This will be similar to a Pinewood
Derby (remember your Cub Scout days?) Participants will
need to grow or buy a zucchini and add wheels. Entries
will be judge on best time and best decorated. Open to
all ages!

Band Concert - The Moberly Community Band will
present a band concert in Tannehill Park that evening
beginning at 7:00 p.m. Gold Nugget Popcorn will be there
too.
